A recent neuroscience study shows that music can change the emotional tone of our memories when it’s played during recall. Participants who listened to emotionally evocative music while remembering neutral stories later recalled those stories with emotions that matched the music. This finding could have wide-ranging implications, from therapeutic approaches to memory reconsolidation to a better understanding of how emotions influence our autobiographical memories. Read on…
