The findings of this study reveal how music can activate the connection between auditory and reward systems in healthy older adults, highlighting its potential therapeutic benefits for healthy aging. The effects were higher for self-selected or familiar music compared to unfamiliar or music that was disliked. That means there is no “one-size-fits-all” music.
