Abstract
LAUDHAUS created the sonic identity for Heineken GREENLIGHT, a platform delivering intimate city gigs and unmissable live music moments. Built around the rhythm of a green crossing signal and crafted with real artists, live instruments, analog production and venue textures, the identity transformed anticipation and discovery into a recognisable and credible audio experience.
Description
Heineken GREENLIGHT is a live music platform built around discovery, intimacy and unmissable musical experiences. The challenge was to create a sonic identity capable of unifying every touchpoint of the platform, from social content and branded films to live venues and audience experience, while feeling authentic to real music culture.
LAUDHAUS approached the project through its proprietary PHORC framework, a strategic system used to translate brand positioning into sound. PHORC analyses five key areas: Product, Hook, Overtone Relationship and Colour. The PRODUCT layer explored the physical sound world of Heineken itself: the fizz of a freshly opened bottle, clinks of glass, venue ambience and the collective sound of people sharing live moments together.
The HOOK from the brief became “a beacon for the unexpected” — the anticipation before discovering something special. This led to the central creative idea: using the universally recognised rhythm of a green pedestrian crossing signal as the foundation of the identity. A sound associated globally with movement, excitement, invitation and exploration. The OVERTONE focused on musical credibility. GREENLIGHT could not sound like generic advertising music.
The platform was designed for real music fans, so the sonic identity needed to feel rooted in authentic culture rather than commercial polish. Real instrumentation, live performance energy and textured production became central to the system. Relationship was inspired by sonic signals, notifications and beacons, sounds that signify something about to happen. The COLOUR of the identity was shaped through guitars, drums, brass, ambient venue recordings and product sounds, layered together to create a flexible sonic world capable of living across digital content, live environments and experiential activations.
The result was a strategic sonic identity system that transformed a campaign platform into a recognisable audio experience. Beyond functioning as a sonic logo or mnemonic, the identity was also designed to operate as an ambient long-form soundtrack within venues before performances and between sets, subtly branding the physical experience through sound. By grounding the work in a simple human cue — the green light signal — LAUDHAUS created a sonic identity that was both strategically aligned and emotionally immediate, helping Heineken build recognition, anticipation and consistency across the GREENLIGHT platform.
