Emar Vegt is a design director specialised in product sound design and vehicle sound design in particular, with a passion for setting up design teams and processes that blend the functional and emotional side of sound. He has worked as sound design director for several brands and tier 1 suppliers, bridging business requirements, creative concepting and technology integration to ensure a great product sound.

Formerly the property owner of all interior and exterior sound design of BMW, MINI, Rolls-Royce, Zhinoro and BMW i, Emar transformed the way sound is treated from a pure engineering discipline to a multifaceted, user-centric design approach. Across 7 years, he created a sound vision and strategy for multiple brands, developed bespoke methods and tools, set up research projects, experiments and prototypes and
attracted and coached new required experts. The result was a smooth-running practice that combines function, emotion and technology from innovative ideas to series production and millions of cars on the road whose owners that hear the thoughtfully created sounds every day.

After BMW, Emar has been continuously engaged with several automotive OEMs and suppliers, consulting on AVAS, EV driving sound and event sounds as an independent expert. He has helped companies with the sound design process, stakeholder decision making, the user experience, legal requirements and homologation, technical integration and of course doing the actual sound design.
