Abstract
PLAY IT is a campaign that transforms real-world sounds from iconic places and products into original music. Through powerful audiovisual storytelling, we elevate ordinary environments into memorable sonic experiences that drive brand engagement and emotional connection.
Description
PLAY IT is an ongoing audiovisual campaign by PLAY Audio Agency that reimagines marketing through the raw beauty of sound. Each episode captures the actual sounds of a specific object, space, or process—whether the chime of a historic bridge, the whir of a candy-wrapping machine, or the hiss of a brewery—and transforms them into an original music composition.
Every sound used is recorded onsite, and every note heard is crafted from those recordings. The result: a piece of music that is literally made of the subject. This method is not just creative; it’s immersive, emotionally resonant, and deeply tied to place. We pair each song with a short-form video that brings viewers into the sound-hunting and composition process—merging art, culture, and commerce into one compelling story.
What began as an internal creative experiment quickly gained traction. The campaign’s first video, featuring Cincinnati’s historic Roebling Suspension Bridge (the architectural precursor to the Brooklyn Bridge), received local news coverage and tens of thousands of organic views. Subsequent episodes with a craft brewery, a 150-year-old candy company, and a family-run tree farm helped define a scalable model: PLAY IT becomes a new kind of branded content—deeply authentic, shareable, and rooted in sound.
These pieces serve as marketing assets for the featured businesses and proof-of-concept for potential clients. While PLAY IT elevates the profile of small businesses, it also showcases PLAY Audio Agency’s expertise in composition, sound design, storytelling, and audio branding.
